Project Overview
YenProtek developed a handheld soil sensing device to meet a client's need for mobile soil testing. Although the model developed in this project is a simpler, portable version, accuracy could not be compromised, so YenProtek specifically selected a Murata (Japan) soil sensor to deliver precise soil temperature, soil moisture content, electrical conductivity, and other sensing data.
For more convenient operation and a better user experience, YenProtek's handheld sensor supports Bluetooth connectivity. After taking measurements, users no longer need to spend extra time and labor recording results; the app displays the sensing data on screen and uploads it to the database. Agribusiness managers and farmers alike can check soil conditions anytime, anywhere and use the data to decide when to irrigate and fertilize, saving on water, electricity, fertilizer, and labor costs and easing the workload of farm operations.
