UWB Precision Positioning for Personnel Safety Management | Large Rail Depot Case

UWB Indoor Positioning & Personnel Safety Management

A rail depot integrates many types of work areas — parking, inspection, and maintenance of rail vehicles — across a vast site with frequent personnel movement, where each zone has its own safety and access-permission requirements. Beyond knowing “where people are,” managers need to know in real time “whether anyone has strayed into a restricted area” and “whether there is any abnormal lingering,” so that potential risks can be spotted early.
Commissioned by a partner contractor, YenProtek AIoT delivered the UWB personnel-positioning system for a large rail-depot project, overcoming the deployment and positioning challenges of such a wide-area site. Using UWB (ultra-wideband) positioning, managers can confirm personnel locations and the distribution of people within each zone in real time on the platform, improving situational awareness on site.
The system integrates zone allow/deny lists and personnel access permissions: when an unauthorized person enters a controlled area or strays into a restricted zone, it issues an immediate alert for managers to act on. It can also be extended, according to site needs, with rules based on dwell time and movement status — for example, triggering an alert to confirm a worker’s safety when someone lingers too long in a certain area or stays motionless for an extended period — while using the positioning data to determine whether a zone is occupied, by whom, and how the space is being used. From real-time personnel positioning and restricted-area alerts to abnormal-lingering detection, YenProtek integrates location information into the safety-management workflow, helping large depots and industrial sites track personnel movement more promptly and improve operational safety and management efficiency.

UWB Personnel Tracking and Alert System Development

UWB Personnel Tracking and Warning System

UWB Personnel Tracking and Alert System

YenProtek designed and developed a UWB personnel tracking and alert system for a large medical beauty clinic. Using UWB TAGs and base stations, it precisely identifies the real-time location of staff and clients within the facility. A dynamic floor plan is displayed on the monitoring platform, showing individual movements and associated names, providing an intuitive and highly efficient management method. The TAG worn by clients features two buttons for calling services or requesting emergency assistance with a single press. Once pressed, the system changes color for an immediate alert and sends a LINE notification to relevant staff for rapid response, ensuring safety and swift action. Furthermore, the system can set up Geofencing for specific areas; if unauthorized individuals enter, the system automatically triggers an alarm. The status of VIP rooms (e.g., in use, awaiting cleaning, etc.) can also be automatically updated and notify relevant staff for cleaning.
This system supports complete customer service process tracking—from check-in and receiving a TAG, setting service items, to binding process areas and managing time—all recorded and updated automatically, making service process management highly efficient and accurate. The backend system supports custom alert types and designated recipients, along with a movement history replay function, facilitating the analysis of client behavior and staff movement. This system not only effectively reduces staff workload and management costs but also significantly elevates operational efficiency and safety within the facility, presenting a new data-driven smart solution for medical beauty clinics.

UWB Forklift Positioning and Dock Safety Warning System Development

UWB Forklift Positioning and Warning Systems

UWB Forklift Positioning and Dock Safety Warning System

A large tech company required sensor equipment and IoT technology to accurately locate forklifts, personnel, manual pallet jacks, hydraulic pallet trucks, etc. When a forklift enters or exits a designated area, the system must issue light and sound warnings via LED warning lights to enhance work safety at the loading dock and reduce accident risks. Additionally, the client needed the system to be easy to install and quick to deploy.
The solution we provided is a UWB Vehicle Sensing System, which includes mounting UWB Tags on the forklifts and installing wireless receivers with warning lights on the walls. The LED warning lights can be configured to operate in multiple sets and can determine the distance between the forklift and the monitored area based on the UWB Tag's signal strength. When a vehicle approaches the monitored area, the system immediately emits visual and audible alerts to warn personnel. This system not only improves worker safety but also reduces personnel costs for access control.
The advantage of using the UWB sensing and positioning system is that each UWB Tag has a unique ID; the receiver can precisely track a specific ID and ignore other Tags. Moreover, the cost of UWB Tags is relatively low, and they are easy to install, use, and replace, making them highly suitable for rapid deployment.

WBGT Heat Stress Protection Weather Station Development

WBGT Heat Stress Protection Weather Station Development

WBGT Workplace Heat Hazard Monitoring Weather Station Development

In this project, YenProtek was commissioned by a sensor manufacturer to turn equipment that previously had no network connectivity into smart, IoT-enabled devices. We delivered a complete solution, including hardware design, mainboard design, sensor integration, data transmission module development, and cloud system and app interface development. The smart WBGT heat hazard protection weather monitoring station automatically collects and transmits a range of environmental data, such as air temperature and humidity, globe temperature, TWL, WBGT, heat index, and wind speed. Data is uploaded to the cloud in real time via wired or wireless (4G) connections, where it can be viewed and analyzed visually in real time on the web system, and alarms can be sent immediately when readings exceed standard values. Through this project, we helped the client make its sensors smarter, enabling users to manage and use environmental data more efficiently and further strengthening heat hazard prevention in high-temperature workplaces.
The equipment is suitable for a wide range of sites that require protection against high temperatures. Beyond construction sites, it is also well suited to steel smelting plants, glass manufacturing plants, the petrochemical industry, power engineering, and other work environments exposed to high heat. Smart data monitoring and real-time alert feedback effectively improve the health and safety of workers in all kinds of high-temperature workplaces, while helping management carry out more precise operational risk assessment and control.

Smart Alcohol and Body Temperature Measurement Device Development

Smart Alcohol and Temperature Detection Device Development

To address the safety issue in many construction sites where workers consume alcohol-laced energy drinks before or during work, the client commissioned YenProtek to design and manufacture a smart alcohol and body temperature detection device. Widely applicable in office buildings, construction sites, and other controlled locations, this device detects body temperature and alcohol levels in real-time as individuals enter high-risk work areas. If individuals with safety risks are detected, the system automatically denies entry to protect worker safety and prevent employers from facing inspections and fines.
YenProtek met the client's needs by customizing the operational interface and exterior design, ensuring the device seamlessly fits into various work environments. Simultaneously, to facilitate integration with the client's legacy systems (such as access control and attendance systems), YenProtek provided API protocols, allowing enterprises to deploy it with greater flexibility. Measured data is stored in the system or uploaded to the Cloud and can be queried at any time. This reduces the manual operations and recording errors common to traditional alcohol testers and thermometers, making workplace safety management significantly more efficient.
