Project Development Overview

In this project, the client commissioned YenProtek to develop an AIoT device for crosswalk simulation. The goal was to leverage technology to accurately and automatically collect pedestrian speed tracking data, which not only saves on labor costs but also avoids manual counting errors. To meet the client's needs for automated speed tracking and gathering pedestrian-related metrics, YenProtek Technology designed the "Smart Pedestrian Counting and Speed Tracking System". This system employs highly efficient and precise wireless laser sensor technology. The timer modes offer user-selectable functionality—either 'Count up' or 'Countdown' according to analytical objectives. The hardware is highly portable and lightweight, ensuring effortless setup and tear-down. Furthermore, its flexible power options, supporting both mains electricity and battery configurations depending on the site, provide maximum versatility across a myriad of deployment locations.
Before running tests, operators simply input basic subject parameters. Once the pedestrian crossing event concludes, the system automatically generates an individualized gait analysis report—logging metrics like crossing time (seconds), walking speed, and recommended transit time—which is synced immediately to the Cloud framework. This repository acts as an empirical asset for traffic analysts engineering public transit models tailored specifically around pedestrian habits. Users can also conveniently view real-time testing outcomes via the companion mobile APP. Whether employed by traffic administration authorities to benchmark localized pedestrian gait speeds or deployed by campuses and institutions as an educational tool for traffic safety, the system provides an optimal fit.
